Saudi Arabia Strengthens Its Global Sports Presence: SMC Group, the Exclusive Commercial Partner of the Saudi Football Federation, Partners with SUM KM Sport to Host 2025 Saudi Super Cup in Hong Kong

Riyadh, June 12, 2025 — Ina significant move underscoring Saudi Arabia’s growing stature as a globalsports hub, SMC Group, the exclusive commercial partner of the Saudi FootballFederation (SAFF), has signed a strategic agreement with SUM KM Sport to hostthe 2025 Saudi Super Cup in Hong Kong. The tournament is scheduled to takeplace from August 19 to 23, featuring the prominent Saudi clubs Al-Ittihad,Al-Qadsiah, Al-Hilal, and Al-Nassr.

The agreement was signed atSMC’s headquarters in Riyadh by Mr. Mohamed Al-Kereiji, Chairman of SMC Group,and Mr. Andy HAO, CEO of Leftion Sports, acting on behalf of SUM KM Sport. Thesigning was witnessed by Mr. Naeim Al-Bakr, SAFF Board Member and Chair of theCompetitions Committee.

  Hosting the Saudi Super Cupin Hong Kong continues the competition’s strategy of staging select editionsoutside Saudi Arabia to build international partnerships that boost the globalvisibility of Saudi football and export its sports content to new markets. Thisinitiative aligns with SMC Group’s efforts to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision2030 by connecting global stakeholders with the rapidly evolving Saudi sportsmarket, which is experiencing remarkable growth and development.

 The matches will be held atHong Kong Stadium, which accommodates 40,000 spectators and serves as the homeground for the Hong Kong national team. Originally built in 1953 and renovatedin 1994, the stadium is a premier venue in the region.

 Mr. Ibrahim Al-Kassim,Secretary-General of the Saudi Football Federation, described the 2025 SaudiSuper Cup in Hong Kong as a “game-changing milestone” for the tournament, whichhas already gained international recognition through its successful editionsheld abroad. He emphasized that this step reflects the Federation’s commitmentto strengthening fruitful partnerships with national and internationalentities, fostering financial sustainability, and advancing its developmentalgoals.

 Mr.Mohamed Al-Khereiji highlighted thatthe agreement is part of SMC Group’s ongoing approach to forge strategiccollaborations that elevate Saudi sports events and support the Kingdom’sambition to expand its leadership on the global sports stage. He thanked SUM KMSport for their cooperation and expressed optimism about delivering anexceptional edition of the Saudi Super Cup that showcases the evolution ofSaudi sports and paves the way for innovative initiatives in this vital sector.

 

Mr. BaoYi Feng, Chairman ofSUM KM Sport, expressed enthusiasm about hosting the 2025 Saudi Super Cup inHong Kong. He praised the remarkable progress Saudi football has made recently,both in club achievements and as a premier destination for major sports events.How described the partnership with the Saudi Football Federation as atransformative opportunity to leverage Saudi Arabia’s leading footballexperience in Asia.

 

The upcoming tournamentwill follow the format introduced in 2023, featuring four teams — Al-Ittihad,Al-Qadsiah, Al-Hilal, and Al-Nassr. A draw will be held to determine thematchups due to the repeated participation of at least one team among the four.
